Welcome to the website of the Microelectronics Department
of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute

The department trains bachelor’s, master’s, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students in specialty G5 Electronics, Electronic Communications, Instrumentation Engineering, and Radio Engineering (educational programs “Micro- and Nanoelectronics” and “Micro- and Nanosystems Engineering”).

The modern world is impossible to imagine without electronics, which has covered all areas of human activity. Micro- and nanoelectronic technologies are the basis of all areas of modern electronics: computer technology, telecommunications, avionics, space and medical technology, energy. The educational process at the department is aimed at a deep understanding of the processes and phenomena that occur in any electronic system. Therefore, according to many years of experience, graduates of the Microelectronics Department easily adapt to all areas of activity related to electronics.

The department is a participant of European scientific and educational programs and has business relations with higher educational institutions of the USA, Western Europe, China, South Korea, etc.

On the basis of the department the research institute of Electronics and Microsystem Technology is created, in which lecturers and students carry out scientific researches in different directions.

On April 18, 2026, the Department of Microelectronics took part in the KPI Open Day. During the event, samples of research and educational projects developed by the department’s students and postgraduate researchers were presented, including solar cells, sun angle sensors, humidity sensors, integrated operational amplifiers, and more.

Prospective students also had the opportunity to explore the mechanical characteristics of their own breathing using an electronic test bench and breathing sensors developed at the department.

We sincerely thank Viktoriia Koval, Serhii Maliuta, Tetiana Obukhova, and Hanna Shevliakova for preparing the demonstration stands and for their active participation in organizing and conducting the event.
