Joint master’s program

Technical University of Dresden
and
National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”

The National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and the Technical University of Dresden (TUD) offer a single international master’s program in:
1. “Electronic devices” (Institute of Telecommunication Systems and Faculty of Electronics of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Faculty of Electronics and Information Technologies of TUD)
2. “Distributed Systems Engineering” (Institute of Telecommunication Systems of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Faculty of Informatics TUD)

Dresden Technical University

As part of a single international program, students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute have the opportunity to do an internship at TUD in the specialty:
1. “Electronic devices” on the basis of specialties Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute “Electronic devices” or “Technologies and means of telecommunications” in combination with the master’s program of TUD “Electronics” (specialization Microelectronics).
2. “Engineering of distributed systems” on the basis of specialties Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute “Information Communication Networks” in combination with the master’s program of TUD “Computing Engineering”.

Formation and preparation of groups of students begins with the second year of their studies at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute based on the results of the first year of study.

Requirements for students
• Diploma “Bachelor of Telecommunications” or “Bachelor of Electronics” Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute
• Recommendation of the department for the master’s degree program
• Fluency in English
• Basic knowledge of German
• Participation in scientific work and research projects of the university
• Successfully passed the general entrance exams to the two-year master’s program in the chosen specialty:
• “Electronic devices
• “Distributed Systems Engineering
• Selection of students will be carried out by a joint commission of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and TUD.

Education

Training is conducted on a contractual basis: at the students’ own expense or at the expense of scholarships received by them. Depending on the success and activity in teaching and research, students have the opportunity to receive scholarships as financial support to participate in the program. The number of scholarships is limited.

Training period is 2 years. The first year students study at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, the second year – in TUD. The student has two supervisors: from Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and TUD. The master’s thesis is defended either in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, or in TUD.

At each of the partner universities, students study in accordance with local tuition and examination regulations.

Students are independently responsible for obtaining insurance and must present it when enrolling in a partner university. The Joint Commission establishes rules regarding the funding of students participating in the program. These rules will be adopted in accordance with the local legal restrictions of each partner university.

Defense of diplomas

Depending on academic success and achievements in scientific work during the course of the program, upon completion of the program, students receive:
• certificate of study of additional disciplines and internship in Germany (depending on academic performance and scientific work of partner universities)
• Master’s degree diploma Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute – “Master of Telecommunications” or “Master of Electronics”.
